is the ethernet connection for the 1400 ethernet ip and is it only ment to talk to other ab equipment? Can it be setup throught the MSG instruction to talk to other manufactures equipment?

Hello,
All the data I look at indicates Ethernet/IP and .... I wanted DNP ethernet.
I find these lines in the documents:
Ethernet port provides you with a programming Web server and Email capability
...an RJ-45 port for 10/100 Mbps EtherNet/IP peer-to-peer messaging
...EtherNet/IP messaging only
