Hello!
First of all happy new year to everyone!
This is my first post in this forum, so i'm a new entry.
By the way, as you can read from the title i've some problems with
Simatic WinCC 7.
I'm pretty new to this SCADA, i start to use it from just a few weeks
so i dont know it very well.
The thing i would like to know is: it's possible to create something
like an historical long term archive ?
Let's say, the main task that i have to do in this system is to store
some process value from 2 PLCs S7-300. For the moment are only few
tags, just as a test but in the nearly future this number will be
increase significatly.
If i understand righ, working with the databuffers, wincc ciclically
overwrite it. I need to store it "for ever", let's say if this system
will be still online in the next 20years, i've to hold all the data
stored from the first acquisition and have the possibility of
visualize it in the runtime.
About the data buffers, the WinCC manual says that it's possible to
configure the number of the data buffers, the size and the time limit.
I can see the size and time limit in the archive properties, but
where you can set how many buffers to use?
If it's not possible to create a long term archive, I was thinking
that i can use the backup utility to store the buffer each time before
the overwriting. But then can i access to the archive backup and to
the buffer at the same time to visualize data at runtime ?
Meanwhile, i'm still looking for more info in the siemens website and
in the manuals, but of course advices are always welcome
Thanks a lot !
Lorenzo
