Powerflex 700 & rslogix 5000

"Check" the square field at the beginning of the row.
Go on the top of the page and click the blue arrow.

Please i understand you and i have done that, but i want to be sure of what to download, is it the [powerflex 4--class. 7--class(SCANPORT 4.07)] or 755/cpi or 525,535

You are downloading RA_DrivesAOP_Ver_4.07.zip.
IT CONTAINS THE LATEST BATCH OF ADD-ON PROFILES FOR ALL NON-MOTION POWERFLEX DRIVES; YOUR REV. 9 PF700 IS IN THERE; TRUST ME.

292.11 MB

Go Online with the RSL5K application file and Save it with Upload data.
Go Offline.
Save As a different name; remember what the old name was for parameter reference if needed.
(Make sure the new drive shows up in RSLinx RSWho interface without any ?s or Xs.)
Go to the respective drive's module within the RSL5K application file, right-click it, select Properties, then under the General tab of the applet pick the Change... button then, when into the Module Definition applet change the Major Revision level to 9 and the Minor to 1.
Click OK, Apply and then Save the project.
Download to the processor.

Hello Sir,

i have changed the drive rev to 9.001 and the drive rating from 400V-11.5amps(old drive 5.5kw) to 400V-15amps(new drive 7.5kw) and I have clicked O.K. it says module properties will change verify before applying changes, should i go ahead,i will do the download tommorow as i will be having a Plant shutdown.
Please i saw other three buttons namely, ''match drive' create datebase' and webupdate' do i have to use any of them

Yes, Apply the changes.
I've never used Web Update and never intend to do so.
"Create Database" is used with drives configuration software such as DriveExecutive.
"Match Drive" is used to upload the networked drive's configuration into the RSL5K Offline application; obviously, if you have a new drive, you will overwrite the existing parameters setup.
You might need to do the "Match" tomorrow after the Download to the CPU though; I've had issues with Rev. 9 before; even you have the proper AOP installed, the CPU will fail to recognize the new drive.
Keep your fingers crossed.

MAKE SURE YOU EDIT AN UPLOAD AFTER THE PLACE GOES DOWN TOMORROW! DO NOT DOWNLOAD TODAY'S UPLOAD!

I hope Edwardeduful FULLY understands the implications of downloading to the processor.

A download can severely screw up the ENTIRE plant over a lousy VFD.

I think this should be discussed further before he gets sent off to click "Download"

Hello Sir,
1.i have to go online and upload the latest rslogix 5000 and save it.
2.i have make sure the new drive shows in rs-who interface
3.i have to go offline and change the version to 9.001
4.i must download to the PLC processor
5.i must 'match'the drive after the download.

Please when i 'match' the drive, what will happen,Will the new drive pickup the old drive settings automatically

YOU DON'T HAVE TO "MATCH" THE DRIVE IF, AFTER DOWNLOADING TO THE CONTROLLER, THE DRIVE SHOWS UP WITHOUT ANY "!" MARKED YELLOW TRIANGLE!
I was just telling you what you might encounter after downloading; I have had issues with numerous Rev.9 PFs which, even after had their AOPs installed and were properly configured within the Offline RSL5K application did not want to be "recognized" by the controller.
If this is the case, you will have to "Match" the drive in the Offline application then Download to CPU, however, make sure you have an old copy of the file since, after a successful "Match" you will have to edit all the parameters which were not at Default values in the old, functional application.
