GE-FANUC 90-30 EGD Problems

Thanks Steve
I now have data being produced and consumed, but only integers or words.
If I wanted to send %M1 or %M1 through to %M16, how would I do that?
I have read that this can be done using the EGD server or some configuration tools, but cannot see how to do it through PME itself.
Thanks again for your help

I have sorted it.

Schoolboy error

Sorry about this. Just when I thought I’d cracked it, I have run into more problems.
I can now send data from my Waterplant PLC to my Softener PLC and receive the data at my Softener PLC correctly.
However, when I try and do an exchange the opposite way it fails to work.
I have attached a couple of zips. One showing screenshots of the working config and one showing screenshots of the opposite exchange that doesn’t work.
If possible, could someone have a look and let me know the error of my ways please.https://www.dropbox.com/s/ag8qsohybgniumm/not working.zip?dl=0

I was lead to believe with the reading I had done, that each produced exchange ID from the PLC must be unique and each consumer exchange ID on that PLC must be unique. But a consumed and produced can have the same ID.
Maybe I dreamt that, as I now can’t find it to reference it.
I will try changing the IDs tomorrow Steve and report back.
Hopefully you will be correct and all will be good.

Very Frustrated Again

When I checked today the data has stopped exchanging. I guessed this was because of the ID clashes. I swapped one of the pairs to ID2 and still no joy.
I then deleted all the exchanges and started again, with just a single exchange. One way with one integer of data. Still no joy.
As a last resort I rebooted both PLCs and the exchange worked again. Whilst ever I only had this one way exchange it was fine.
As soon as I tried to send data the other way as well it locked the whole exchange up and I had to remove this and reboot to get it working again.
What am I doing wrong?
Could it be the fact that it is trying to transmit and receive data at the same time that it is causing a bottleneck and hanging the EGD?
Any help would be appreciated, really need this 2 way communication

Hi Steve

I have got this working but not sure why I have to do what I do.

When I have created a one way exchange, things work ok. If I then add an exchange in the other direction, it breaks the EGD exchanges.

If I then reboot both PLCs the exchanges work in both directions. Not ideal when wanting to add more exchanges ad-hoc, but at least its working.
Thanks for your help.
