Studio View Designer

Hey guys anyone have an example program in Studio View Designer. I am used to FT View. I don't have Tech Connect so I can't download their example. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question, sorry if this is silly, but where are the tags? That's the most confusing thing for me right now is where do I put tags. Thanks!

Hi,

I did a project in View Designer using only the PLC tags and some PanelView internal predefined tags. At this time I can't recall if you can create local tags in the PanelView.

View Designer is quite different from FT

There are plenty of free official stuff you can download from Rockwell and YouTube as well as some stuff from forums in the Internet

You are most welcome.

The tags are in the controller. Only direct reference tags are currently supported.

The following technote briefly outlines some of these features/limitations, however you want to look at it...

Your example didn't have any references to tags and didn't have any buttons with tags. So it didn't help much. Thanks anyways.

I probably didn't explain what I was having problems with, but after messing around for a while I did find what I was looking for. If I make a button and want to assign a tag to that button, I go to the property manager, events tab, make a touch press, pick toggle, and then assign a tag to it. I'm used to FT View where assigning the tag was simply in the connections tab. Thanks everyone.
