Turck TBEN I/O Block Configuration

Have a job coming up where I'm using a bunch of Turck TBEN-L4-16DXP modules. They say they're configurable as inputs or outputs. I've downloaded the "sample code" from turck which is basically just a bunch of configured modules and no code. PLC is a CompactLogix 5069-L306ER.

I see an input assembly and an output assembly, and I've looked in the manual and correlated the I/O points with the assembly arrays. I have a few of these modules where I want to do half input and half output. So I'm wondering if there's any configuration I have to do to the Block I/O module itself. I can't find any information from Turck as regards that specific question. Do I just use the Output Assembly addresses for outputs and use the Input Assembly addresses for inputs and that's it? Or is there some special configuration software from Turck I need to set which channel is an input and which is an output?

I’ve used these a few times. You’re off to a better start then I was. I couldn’t find any documentation that correlated to the input and output arrays. I basically just powered it up and started flagging the ins and toggling the outs and figured out the map.

I don’t believe you need to do anything to configure a point as an in or an out, at least I didn’t. I will say that they are sensitive to wiring on the commons. I left a few off of some of the points when testing and it seemed to affect other banks of points. I was getting inconsistent results until I finally wired up everything as if I was using all points on the module.
