Updating software on SIEMENS SIMOREG 6RA70

Hi there,

Following procedure for updating software on 6RA7013, stuck at step 5 (for those who have the manual) where you open a dos window and give the command C:\6RA70\HEXLOAD 7001Axxx.H86 7001Bxxx.H86 COMx.
Connection Simoreg-PC is succesfull, but I get the following error: Can't find file 7001Axxx.H86.

Anyone done this before??

You need to substitute xxx with your software version...have a look at this FAQ

I've been doing that, I put the xxx to generalize when explaining the problem.
The specific version I'm dealing with is 2.26, and the port I'm using is 1 thus making the command C:\6RA70\HEXLOAD 7001A226.H86 7001B226.H86 COM1.

The problem is that it fails to locate the files in question giving the error: "can't locate file 7001A226.H86".
I can locate the same files in the same DOS window simply with a DIR command.

With the DOS windown open, rather than execute the the command 'C:\6RA70\HEXLOAD 7001A226.H86 7001B226.H86 COM1', from C:\ have you tried changing directory to C:\6RA70\ and simply using 'HEXLOAD 7001A226.H86 7001B226.H86 COM1'

That's the one.
I asked a friend at work who's more experienced in DOS and he said the same thing.
Did the upgrade, works like a charm.
