I have been running RSLinx Classic 2.5 for about 6 months on a IBM Thinkpad running XP SP2. For some reason I cannot connect to my Enternet/IP network using RSLinx Classic anymore. I have reinstalled RSLinx 3 times now and still cannot see the devices on the Enternet/IP Network.

Any help would be appreciated

A couple of questions that may help us shed more light on what is happening with your network:

1. Which RSLinx driver were you using to connect? The Ethernet devices driver, or the Ethernet/IP driver?

2. Can you ping your devices on the network?

3. Did you (or anyone else) make changes to any configured driver in RSLinx?

Ethernet/IP, I can pull up the powerflex web page for each drive.
No. No changes did install KEPServer.

Just a WAG, but have you checked your XP firewall settings since you installed KepServer? Perhaps the KepServer installation changed some firewall settings that are now blocking RSLinx Classic.

Obviously, the firewall was not an issue *before*, since Linx Classic was running as expected.

I started the driver for Internet Drivers and input all ip addresses and I can see them all. But I still cannot connect via the Ethernet/IP Driver.

Do you have VPN software on the computer? I know that the Checkpoint software I have on my PC to remotely access our corporate network interferes with the EtherNet/IP driver whereas the Ethernet Devices driver will work just fine.

If you have that software installed, you might have to diasble the service. Once I disable the service it works just fine. I ended up creating an icon to start and stop the service.

Even if that (VPN software) is not the case, see if you can disable the Kepware Server and see if that re-establishes comms.
