Problem with Analog PointIO on CompactLogix L18

Page 19 just mentions "module location" under general specifications. That could be an error. Notice it doesnt mention the TB on that page, and yet the TB is the one that is mentioned everywhere else. Perhaps it's an issue with both the base and the firmware.

Where can I find 1734-IE4C (1734IE4C) base selection information?
Review the POINT I/O 4 Channel High Density Current Input Modules Installation Instructions Manual, pub. no. 1734-IN032A-EN-P - March 2008, starting on Page 5.

• 1734-TB or 1734-TBS POINT I/O two-piece terminal base, which includes the 1734-RTB removable terminal block and 1734-MB mounting base.
• 1734-TOP or 1734-TOPS POINT I/O one-piece terminal base.

On the other hand, since the IE4C doesn't have a 'unique' connection on pins 4,5 or 6,7, the TB3 should be OK according to another KB article:

Answer

No, The 1734-IB8, OB8 and OW4 are not compatible with the 1734-TB3 or TB3S bases.

• Since the TB3/TB3S RTBs internally short the 4-5 and 6-7 connections together, any module that has unique signals on [4, 5] and [6, 7] should not used.
• TB3/TB3S will short the Z to Z Ret, and Out 0 to Out 1 signals together.

Since it's an L18, I am almost positive that is the issue. I'm looking at getting either a 3.2 or higher firmware or just getting an AENT. I really thought I was going nuts with this one.
