Okay, have a question.
Lets say you have a 480v, 3 phase machine.
The current through each phase is as follows.
Phase 1 - 10 amps
Phase 2 - 12 amps
Phase 3 - 12.5 amps
What would be the total current this machine is pulling?
would it be 10+12+12.5 / 3 which is equal to 11.5
Then take the 11.5 and multiply it by the voltage and 1.73 which equals
11.5 x 480 x 1.73 = 9559VA
to be honest have asked a couple of our so called electricians and get different answers from both and looked it up in Google and dang, got all kinds of different answers so i know folks on this site know, so thought i would ask.
