forum format - 'old' thread subject line typeface remains bold typeface

Did someone turn the 'magic switch' off again for this functionality?

I've just noticed in the past day or two, threads are still in bold face from previous sessions.

The read/unread problem was never fixed on my end as it was for some others. I also have an issue where extra blank lines get inserted between paragraphs when I am posting. I believe this issue is related to Firefox since it didn't occur when I tried Chrome. I suspect that may be the cause of the read/unread problem too since I'm seeing a lot of posts in this thread with double blank lines...

I was going to start suggesting that folks throw up which web browser they happen to be using? It might help some in filtering out which might be "working" better than others?

For me, I am using Google Chrome Version 80.0.3987.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have had no issue with this bold typeface feature whatsoever over the last number of weeks. All of my "unread" threads appear in bold typeface and all of my "read" threads appear in Roman typeface (non-bold). I have also not noticed anything different with the graphical icons used for the status of each thread...

Just to be clear, the problem that some people are having is not with the display of read/unread threads, but rather the fact that all threads are not marked as "read" at the end of the browser session (seems to be 20 minutes or so of inactivity). Threads are only marked as read when opened.

I'm using Firefox 64-bit v73.0.1.

Ah OK, understood. Well still, for me, it has not been an issue and I have not seen any deviation from the old way over the last number of weeks.

When I log in all the new threads at the top are Bold and all older read threads are still Roman. If I click in on a new thread at the top and then navigate back out using the correct link at the top (not the back button) the new thread will now immediately be changed to Roman.

If I log out and back in, it will still be Roman and all new threads underneath it will still be Bold and all read threads will still be Roman. Hours later this will still be the case when I log back in.

Or if I stay logged in and was reading a thread, and then left for ages while still reading it, and then navigate back out, all is still as I would expect it.

So it does appear to be only affecting some? That's why I'm suggesting to name the browser in use with each case presented.

Latest version of Firefox here. v73.0.1 64 bit.

And hey, this forum is great... I don't mean to complain, just thought I'd point it out given a conversation had been ongoing.
