SLC 5/04 RS232 with DH485 protocol

Hi Chaps,

I have a SLC 5/04 configured with the RS 232 port (Channel 0) as DH485 protocol, am I right in thinking that I need to use the PIC driver in RSLinx to connect to it using a RS232 cable? I don't have a KTX or PCMK card and I need to download the program to convert it to SLC 5/05.

I think you need to use DF1 driver to connect to your PLC directly.
if you want to go by Net-AIC then you need PIC driver.

If port configured for DH485, install 1747PIC driver in RSlinx and use 1747-CP3 (or any nulmodem cable).
You can't use PIC with 5/04

Yes, you need the "1747-PIC/AIC+" driver in RSLinx to connect to the RS232 port of a SLC-5/04 when it is configured for DH485 mode.

The cable is physically the same as when you use DF1 (the 1747-CP3 cable), but the driver is definitely the "1747-PIC/AIC+" driver.
