Hello

I hope this doesn't count as advertising.
In my search for a solution that doesn't involve virtualization I've stumbled across the plcs.net forum a few times, and wanted to post my solution here since others seem to have struggled with the same problem as I have.

The guide will enable you to use the TSXCUSB485 cable as well as the RS232 based programming cables.
It does not work with the XIP driver yet, I haven't been able to figure out a workaround, but I will post it if I do.

The guide is here:
http://xn--lundstrm-c5a.com/index.php/plc/installation-of-pl7-pro-on-64-bit-based-systems/

The guide should work for other 64-bit windows versions as well.

If you go follow the guide and find something wrong, or something you'd like explained in more detail please let me know, any feedback is appreciated.

PL7 to Unity Conversion

I am having trouble with this installation. Can you convert this to Unity pro for me.

Appreciate it!

Hello

I have updated the guide to reflect recent driver changes from Schneider.
They've cleaned things up and they are not as funky to install as before.

If you are uncomfortable downloading things from a blog, you can find the drivers directly from Schneider here:
http://www.tscautomate.com/
You can even find the PL7 installation and Service Pack 5 in there.
They'll provide you with a username and password if you're a customer.

The setup32.exe is distributed with very old installshield applications, if you dig through your old CD-ROM collection you will probably be able to find it (y)

As a major plus the new drivers enable the XIP driver in PL7 on 64-bit installations, I've added how to set it up in the guide.

Hi MorteL, I could not access to any resource wich you posted..:(

could you please help me? I terribly need to install PL7 PRO 4.5 with XIP ethernet drivers on a (almost) windows 7 x64 VM...
Telling the truth I've been able to install PL7 Pro 4.5 on a win 7 x64 VM, but I cannot make the link between XIP ethernet drivers and PL7. when I try to choose the right PLC driver, it only shows me UNTLW01 driver, and does not let me choose another one different. In the same VM works unity pro XL 4.0 and it can use the XIP driver with no problem.

thanks a lot...

Stefano.

Hello Stefano

I have tried accessing the webpage, I have also verified that each download link works.
Perhaps the webhost was down when you tried it last?
If not, could you elaborate what exactly isn't working? Is it the site itself or some of the links?

I'm running the XWAY TCP/IP Driver version 3.13 in Windows 10 x64, I would assume this would work in Windows 7 as well.

Maybe you're having issues with the internationalized domain name, you can use https://xn--lundstrm-c5a.com/ instead then.

Edit: I just realized I get a 503 error if I do not use https://
Could you try with https:// and see if it works?
I'll need to figure out why it isn't working, but https should work

Ok MortenL,
I've installed PL7 Pro 4.5 SP5 on a Win10 x64 VM successfully!
Thanks a lot for your precious support.

Stefano.
