Being called OLD!

And where does Cary Grant fit in?

All of this reminds of the story when many years ago a New York magazine was writing an article about Cary Grant. He was known to be notoriously secretive about his true age, and despite much research they couldn't find anywhere an accurate figure for this. So eventually they decided to cable the actor, in what for the time was the usual terse telegram language -
"HOW OLD CARY GRANT?"

The reply they received lived up to everyone's image of the guy -
"OLD CARY GRANT FINE. HOW YOU?"

Regards

Ken

You know the second thing to go with old age?

What about the first thing??

First thing?? OH Um I can not remember!!

SEE, someone got offended from the term "old".

It is kind of funny in a way. I may not have known more at 30 but could definitely do more. I think that is why 30 is considered "over the hill", it is the point where you "can do" but the stuff in your head starts to be relevant. The "can do" part is probably more important then the "know" part.

Peace for all,
1-I shouldn't be here but wanted to know how others feel for being called OLD.
2-We are only as old as we feel.
3-Being old means lots of experience, understanding and knowledge.
4-Isn't it enough to be here helping others with your experience.
5-One should always look behind and see what he/she has learned and teached.
6-Make the future beter or try cause it is still yours or for your family or friends.
Regards

  1. Everyone is welcome, IMO we all get old so overall it just signifys a part of life
  2. That would make me 100 years old.
  3. Not necessarily.
  4. Do not know if it is enough but I am here.
  5. Who can remember the past when they get old?
  6. Future...no comment.

Lets see, I'm at the age that the more I learn the less I know and gas was at $.32 a gallon.
I remember when gasoline was $0.20 a gallon for regular and $0.22 for "hi-test" in the US. I can't remember what year that was though!

I hear you. I remember paying $0.19 a gallon when I first started driving 1961. At the local Powerine gas station. They would give you coupons, once you filled up a little book you would get some free gas.
Never had over 1/4 tank of gas.

PLUS... as a bonus it came with pb!

I am the perfect age. I am old enough to know better and too young to worry about it.

My manager is called Grand Pa. I found out he is 6 years younger than me.

Age is relative. I get around a couple of guys at church and they address me as young fella.

I remember buying Clark gas for $00.18 a gallon in 1970.

You may be old if:

You ever troublshot a machine, by the cadence of the relays!
You ever lugged around a T-47, T-50, terminal.
