Any reasons you can't use remote IO?

Some pretty good systems that run over ethernet and are rated IP67 (or better) and can be mounted in the field.

Parameter 14 is the Dig In Status, and the first 4 bits monitir terminals 5 to 8.
P14 bit 0 = terminal 5, and so on.
You would need to use a datalink to get the status to your PLC, note the datalink values cannot be changed if you have an established I/O connection to the drive.

You can monitor up to 4 parameters on a 525 drive at the RPI you have set for the drive. This is set in the module configuration where you select the HP, revision, and keying options. You could potentially use this for IO. If the IO is not related to drive function I would highly recommend adding a card or remote IO solution since it would be quite confusing to troubleshoot.
