Yes do ensure all dip switches are off, it could be in cal mode. I have had a similar problem some time ago, although the switch seemed to be off it was actually making contact, I switched it on/off a few times & this cured the problem. I also had a similar experience on a different make, this turned out to be the touch screen, someone had given it a bit of a knock or used a sharp instrument that caused the particular area to be seen as a key press, it happened to be the area you hold while booting to calibrate the screen, however this is unlikely to be your problem as it requires a dip switch to set the mode.
