Any Suggestions for networking course for OT techs to cover IPs subnets, vlans, ring & redundant networks..... yada yada yada.

We mainly use Siemens PLCs but not always Siemens switches.

BE sure to cover the looping issue with devices.
i did a wifi job in which the access point was using wifi and i switched it to ethernet at the same time. the communication loop almost brought the network down. the manufacturer said it couldn't happen, but it did.
cover the part about keeping corporate on 1 network and the plant on another and why.
cover keeping the plant network AWAY from the internet! and why. then how to use a 3rd party switch to gain access from the outside to remote in.

I wish there are network course specifically targeting controls. I have seen some but they are almost too basic.

maybe just go through online course for CompTIA's Network Plus course. It designed to be non-vendor specific and cover the topic you are talking about.

CISCO had one for industrial networking that I considered at one time, but didn't pursue. I wonder if it's still available:

Rockwell has a similar course themselves (which will focus on Stratix and Cisco) and I'd imagine Siemens themselves have one too.

The Cisco one would possibly be the best since it's a recognised certification and although there will be a bit of marketing included and be Cisco-centric, the principles remain the same.

The automation brand ones can be good, but more often than not they focus on implementing recipes rather than understanding the networking principles.

I haven't gone on a course yet, but started studying for the first level of the Cisco stuff. Though it's quite dry at times. There's a free software from them (Packet Tracer) to test some things out.
