Modbus Viewing Tools

Hey all, looking for some opinions/recommendations for Modbus server viewing software.

Have a PLC that we're reading directly from the modbus tables. Some of the values come across okay, some do not. Would love to see the raw values in the tables.

I recently used CAS Modbus Scanner, worked great for Modbus RTU.

I use one from WinTech as well as FTE for the problem children, but there are free ones like this one from SquareD

Just checked and it can do Modbus TCP as well.

Try MatDeck if you are working with Modbus applications. They have a free version, but I don’t know how in-depth Modbus settings will be on the free version. MatDeck - Software for Math and Technical Computing

Open Modscan is a freeware app that looks and feels like Modscan32/64. As freeware it runs without the limited trial time that Modscan has.

I Have used many different ones, including Modscan and MDBus but by Far my favorite that i use every time since i bought a cheap license is Simply Modbus (Simply Modbus )
It is very handy and if you use it for free you have to reboot it every 6 poll sbut the licnese made it very worth it. you can swap words and bytes, it can poll enron modbus including the enron flow history archives, it provides lots of feedback, they have a serial master and serial slave as well.

For freeware tool maybe use Comtest Pro or RMMS.

The OP's Link to Simply Modbus in his original Post appears to be incorrect and fails.

Data Communication Solutions | Simply Modbus Software works though.

I've used the RMMS it works. It seemed to have a strange 0/1 starting index implementation. The grid of values was always off by one no matter what. And it always polls at least 10 coils/contact/regs no matter if you tell it less or not (per window)
