Good Afternoon ,

I have a 5 Hp SEW Eurodrive motor S.O.# 87.8070060501.0002.22.90
KA67/T motor. I'm trying to find the Terminal Block that sets in the junction box.

I created an account on the SEW Eurodrive website . I was hoping to get a
parts breakdown by typing in the SO Number.

I may order just another brand .

Any thoughts.

Thanks so much.

I would put in a call to your local SEW/Eurodrive office. Their regional center is in Bridgeport, NJ, but they probably have a field office closer to you.

I have had great response from the office near Detroit when I have needed anything, even had the service supervisor come out to see the setup after a technician was at the shop I was working at.

We have had good support from SEW when we call them. I have not tried getting a web response. The terminal blocks they use break easily. Personally, I would not install the same type because it will break easily, as well. Similar to Maxkling, we reterminate the wires, but we use ring terminals, machine screws, flat washers, lock washers and nuts to terminate them. We cover that with electrical tape, then high temp tape for abrasion resistance. On larger motors, we use mastic tape, then high temp tape, then electrical tape.

The terminal blocks are extremely easy to break from over tightening. We just use wire nuts when they break.

U.S. code does not allow wire nuts in motor housings. Had a few stamping presses taken out of service for this until updated. (Don't remember if it was during an OSHA or Fire Marshall inspection almost 30 years ago)

Have to use ring terminals and screws like drforsythe, unless large enough for copper split bolts.
