Hi guys
I have a question about rslogix 5000 , I have a machine with 5 powerflex 40 with Ethernet , as the machine has already been programmed does the powerflex parameters stay in the plc, eg if I changed the powerflex do I have to load the data to the drive or does the plc download it ??

It depends of the integration method, however, probably the Component Class PF40 application file (if previously saved!)needs to be downloaded separately via dedicated software such as DriveExecutive.
There are instances where the developer has chosen to use CPU ladder logic explicit/implicit messaging/RPIing in order to "write" to the drive's onboard processor. This instances, however, target only a small portion of the drive's configuration data; the MSG/RPI-ing is restricted to only functional process parameters and not to the VFD's attached motors ratings parameters or independent drive functionality settings
