I've recently been given the job to change out a Beckhoff controller to an AB 1769-l30er. Is it possible to use the existing Beckhoff I/O racks in the AB program?

You can very probably replace the EtherCAT bus coupler with an EK9500 EtherNet/IP bus coupler and re-use the existing I/O.

Is there anything special in the I/O system, like motion control or subnetwork modules ? I'm not sure if the EK9500 can do every feature of the native EtherCAT couplers.

Thanks for the reply Ken, there is nothing too weird going on with this system. It is operating a bunch of conveyors in our processing plant. Mostly photo eyes and limit switches.
