Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has a source of AD parts for Solidworks Electrical? I have the cad models from their site, but all I have there are 3D cad models which aren't really what I want. I was hoping to find something similar to parametric PLC modules in ACADE where it gives a graphical representation of the card and you can then attach your circuits to it.

Otherwise, how do you guys solve that problem in Solidworks electrical?

www.traceparts.com has some models. Or at least they did. Not sure how they are implemented since I don't do much CAD work these days.

Thanks, but I couldn't find anything on there. I don't do much either, I was just hoping to make a 2D graphical representation of the different components so I could lay out the wiring scheme.

What parts in particular are you looking for? Many of their are parts only re-branded so you may be able to find the original parts and get the information from that web site. For example on Delta Electronics web site you can find information on the AD power supplies and servo drives. In many cases the only difference is the print or sticker.

Thanks for the tip. Is there any way to find out specifically which ones they are?

As far as what specific products, that would be their productivity series PLC's and IO cards. This project in particular is getting a productivity 1000.

Unfortunately it is not very easy to find the original that was rebranded. You can start here to see if anything looks like it:

https://www.deltaww.com/Products/CategoryListT1.aspx?CID=060301&PID=ALL&hl=en-US

If you can see the circuit board, in some cases it will have some print or a logo to give a clue.

I haven't really worked with the productivity series, but I do get the impression this line may not be a rebranded line.

I'm pretty sure AD tech support told me that the Productivity series are their own controllers designed in-house. I should have worded the above differently. I was just talking about their other equipment in general. They are usually pretty good about naming who they source it from, though.

It looks like FACTS Engineering and Host Engineering are behind some of their PLC lines:

https://www.hosteng.com/

Not sure about the relationship between the companies.

For many of their other parts that are rebranded, I believe Delta Electronics is behind most of them. For example, this is a drop in replacement for some of their servo drives:

And these are some of the power supplies:

Thanks for the info. As to the original post, I found some scheme files online and figured out how to get all the modules lined up. Now I just need to figure out how to export that 2D view, and I think I will have accomplished my goal there.
