Welcome to the PLCTalk forum community !

FactoryTalk View ME and the PanelView Plus terminals use a third party driver set from Kepware, which they package and include at no additional cost. If you're using FactoryTalk View SE, the big distributed HMI, the drivers are a separate item.

You have to configure the drivers separately and treat KepServer basically like an OPC server.

The "KepServer Enterprise" bundle of drivers that's included with FTView ME is a subset of the larger KepServerEX product.

I believe that KepServer Enterprise includes a Beckhoff TwinCAT driver but.... the RA Knowledgebase is down right now and I don't have a full copy installed.

So when the Knowledgebase comes back up, search the terms "PanelView Plus Kepware Drivers" and look at the list.

An additional important note: the PanelView Plus "Compact" and the PanelView Plus 7 "Standard" models support only one driver at a time, whether A-B or third party. If you need to connect to multiple controllers, get a normal PanelView Plus 6, or the "Performance" model of a PanelView Plus 7.
