Yet another Weintek question (#6)

This may very well be my last question. I'm not on to system alarming. Each station has its own set of alarms. What I have done is provide a list of the alarms for each station along with a set of check boxes to set a retentive bit in the local HMI. I was hoping to use this bit to enable/disable notifications with easyaccess. I didn't see an obvious way to do this. Is this possible?

Another option I see that I could use is to enable/disable sending an email to the owner's phone number when there is an alarm and just using easyaccess for remote access.

We don't use easyaccess!

But we do send out sms/email for alarms. We have are own email server but I think you can still use something like gmail with authentication.

We set up enable/disable bits in the Plc which will dictate if alarm will be sent or not.

We always send all alarms to a master email address this way there is always a hard copy (Sometimes someone will say they never got the sms/email and if I have a hard copy I know at least the system sent one) the failure has to be else where.

I'll have to look into that. I wonder if the HMI has a built-in SMTP server, as that is all you really need to send an email. Now that you mention it, I need to put in a test function as well. I'm going to keep digging into it and I'll post up if I figure out how to programatically enable or disable the alarm pushing to easyaccess. It is either the free easyaccess license that is included with the HMI or I set up VPN on his phone and VNC in, however I don't know if he got a VPN router when he had his internet set up.

Thanks for the update. After looking around in the software, there doesn't appear to be a way to access individual object parameters. It also appears that the alarms are compiled and within the program, so there isn't really any way to access each object's individual properties. Perhaps weintek will catch wind of that idea and include an easyaccess push notification toggle option in the future. For now, I just won't be able to include that option.

You might want to look at Macro's, I have done a lot of things by using macro's that you would not think could be done.
