In general, DeviceNet safety I/O modules are configured entirely inside Studio 5000 Logix Designer, as part of the "IO Tree" under a 1756-DNB. This is unlike ordinary DeviceNet devices that are configured and mapped into the Scanner's scanlist.
But to my knowledge, the 1769-SDN does not support safety I/O. You can use a 1788-EN2DN to bridge CIP Safety modules on DeviceNet to a Compact GuardLogix, but not the 1769-SDN, just because the 1769 architecture doesn't support CIP Safety.
