Hi all. When allocating a bit from a DINT in a 5000 plc to say, the visibility attribute of an object in a pv+, the DINT as shown in the tag browser is not visible to bit level. Is it just a matter of inserting the bit number e.g. {[CIP_PLC]B0.17} ? The lack of verify facility (grrr) means that I'm using the help files a lot but couldn't find this one. Thanks.

You are correct that the FactoryTalk View Studio Tag Browser lacks a "bit picker" like the one in RSLogix 5000. You can only browse to the Tag datatype level, not to boolean sub-elements of the Tag.

You just add the ".xx" bit number to the end of the tag, as you've described.

Be sure to check the datatype that you're using Bits from; you'll get an error if you try to read Bit 16 from an INT or Bit 8 from a SINT.
