Yup...got the same - when you access the forum it tries to download a trojan..

(It's not from PLCs.net though it's from mrplc.com)

I also got the e-mail but did not click on the link.I went to mrplc the usual way and saw no mention of it.

Yes we are dealing with some spamming issue which is currently being sorted out. Please do not follow any links and remove any suspect e-mail. Keep an eye on the pinned topic Spammer which is available in every sub forum on MrPLC.com.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Ok, I admit to being a dummy, I clicked on the link loaded the file and have been fighting a browser hi-jacker ever since. Any clues on how to get rid of it? I am having problems with something that looks like an automatic emailer so this is mostly inconvenient stuff, however this **** really is so unnecessary and if life were fair, people who do this kind of malicious stuff would just expire on the spot. But, life sure ain't fair!

ah....****....now I feel bad.

Try and download Spy Bot Search and Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Also try downloading and installing AdWare SE Personal:
http://www.lavasoft.de/

Next, send me a PM with your address so I can send you a free t-shirt or something for all the **** I caused...

After cleaning, patch your computer up.

I have to agree, since I just bought it and let it get me back in business again. The site was running a sale, so I got it for $10 off the regular price, but it would have been worth full to get that darned SpySheriff off my system. Sure feels good not that it is gone. Browser is mine again and the emailer seems to have stopped. I hope that does it for all of it and I will surely not click on links in emails again, from anyone.
