I have a bunch of ML1000 PLCs on a DH485 network using 1761-NET-AIC modules and we are replacing the ML1000s with ML1400s.
Once all of the ML1100s are replaced with ML1400s we will replace the master PLC and the comms will be via Ethernet but in order to stage the replacements, we need the ML1400s to temporarily communicate via DH485.
My question is:
Can I simply plug the mini DIN plug from the AIC into the ML1400 or do I need to use a 1763-NC01 in order to connect the DH485? At present the AIC is powered from the ML1000 so obviously I will need to provide an external power source.
Further, if I must use the 1763-NC01, will the phoenix connector that is in the AIC module fit straight into the NC01?
Unfortunately this is an operating plant so I need to have as much information up front as possible.
