We went to this today...
http://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/events/en/tia-portal-innovation-tour/Pages/Default.aspx
I would recommend going if you can, Siemens is going to have another class here (South Carolina) in December focused more on just programming and it will be longer (about 5 hrs) they will cover 300 and 1200 and I think the HMI's
The class if free and they are serving lunch, not bad if you ask me...
Today it was about 3 hrs we covered a few basics and they answered a lot of questions, they had a nice little wireless network set up with a 1200, 300, two HMI's and some Profinet I/O's, wrote a small program in the 300 and had setup the other and ran them including the HMI, other then being short it was great (had to get back to work anyway), I was impressed they never had a blue screen once
I hope the same people will be putting on the class in December as they were sharp and taught the class very good, it was not just a sales pitch you could tell they wanted you to learn and they did a good job.
Good job Siemens
