I am having a fault 85 comm. issue on a Allen Bradley power flex 70 VFD, there are two drives rotating on run hours or if one fails, the other will start and run. They are both communicating with an HMI(Allen Bradley panel view. The fault 85 is a comm. failure. There is a flash upload available for the same scenario but for a Power Flex 700,there was an advisory for that but not for the Power Flex 70. I have not heard back from Tech services yet. Would anyone have experianced this particlur fault on the PF 70 and if so how did you correct. Thanks in advance.

yep. but with a devicenet interface. is that what you have?

In our case, the drive firmware (not the dpi device firmware) needed to be above rev 2.001

The technote first says it may apply to any 20-comm device, then later states that it has not been seen with the 20-comm-e or 20-comm-c
