I started a new thread for this subject. I just tried this...

I went to the Rockwell Automation site / Activation support /Get new activations

Host ID Type - Hard Drive Serial Number
Host ID - f07d60b1
Serial Number ( RS Trainer Software) - 1956012840
Product Key ( RS Trainer Software) - DRX36-YKBNN

When I click next , I am getting this....

No installs are available for this Serial Number and Revision.

I have the software installed.

FYI, Rockwell sent me a e-mail with a a .lic . Below...

I forget what I needed to do with this file. I still don't understand why the present activation I am trying to do with the website will not work. The software is installed.

This seems to be the root of your problem not rockwell.
What did you do with .lic file? it is needed in a directory for your software to reconize it is activated. In the e-mail did they tell you which directory to put it in ? or did they tell you verbally and you did not write it down?
It should go in a location like: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Rockwell Automation\Activations
hope this helps

you can find the path the license file needs to go in by looking at the activation manager.

just make sure and refresh the activations or it wont show up.

I think Tech Support assumed I knew that. It was not the best conversation I ever had with Tech Support. I did get it activated.

Instead of "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Rockwell Automation\Activations"
It was in "C:\Program Files \ Common Files \ Rockwell \ Activations "

Thanks for your help and sorry for being so
impatient.

The path you are using is for an older version of the FactoryTalk Activation Tool. It will work just fine, but newer software will install an updated "FactoryTalk Activation Manager" and the LIC files will go in the new location.

Again, nothing wrong, it will work as is.
