Hello, I'm Ki,
My English is not good, please understand me.

I have to upload program from 1756-l55/A because our customer deosn't have a original program to maintenance.

The processor firmware is 8.90 (Redundancy version) in RSLinx.

so, I installed RSLogix 5000 V8.52 to my laptop on Windows XP mode(Virtual)and then I did program uploading but I've got a Fatal error while uploading as follow.

//
There was an unspecified communications problem.
RSLogix 5000 has been taken offline.
//

//
Fatal Error!
Application Path:C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSLogix 5000\Bin\RS5000.exe

Version: V8.52.00
Source File: aftrans_offline.cpp
Line Number:557

Error 0x80042938 (-2147210952)

R***E_CONTROLLER_STILL_REFERENCED - Controller still being referenced.

Press OK to terminate this application
//

I tried to upload from other processor (They have 2 CPU for redundancy) but have got same issue.

Well.. I googled solution of that issue but I did't get any infomation.
Also, There is no solution in Rockwell Automation Knowledgebase.

Finally, I did test downloading and uploading a new program that has just 1 rung of main routine.
There was no issues. It is totally perfect.

However, I can't upload it from processor that has file they want.
Please, Check attached files.

Anyone had this and found a solution?

Best Regard.

"XP mode(Virtual)"

Perhaps your PC's operating system is 64-bit?
Old communication drivers do not work on a 64-bit platform.
try from a true installation of WinXP

This might be related to the "redundancy" situation.

You could try uploading the Primary controller with the Secondary disconnected.

Thanks for your reply.

My operating system is Windows 7_64bit.

I think, Communication driver do work normal because I've done download and upload new program I made.
But I can't upload it only they want.

Anyway, I'm trying to test on true installation of WinXP.

Thanks for your opinion.

So, I took off a processor from their system.

And only use 1756-L55 and 1756-ENBT...I got a same error

Do I test Primary controller on thier system without Secondary?

Hi,

There is couple of topics on knowledgebase related to: Error 0x80042938 (-2147210952)

It seems to be more like a program access error.

If still trying to find a solution drop rockwell and email with the program and problem and maybe they will be able to help you.

It is just you will probably need to wait day or two for an answer.

Try a web chat with support so maybe they get on the problem straight away.

I already read that topics.
Those solutions are not my case.

And, They don’t have original program.
Actually, This is problem.

Yeah, I’ll contact the webchat as you told me.
Thank you for your reply.
