Micrologix 1200 communications

Hello,

I am preparing to purchase a 1761-CBLPM02 communication cable to communicate between my Micrologix 1200 (1762-L40AWA)with an eight pin mini din and my laptop that has both a USB port and a RS232 port. What additional items might I need and what communication software does the micrologix 1200 use?

RSLinx to communicate (latest version 2.51) and RSLogix 500 to programme (latest version 7.3 i think?).


Then you're good to go (the lead sounds the correct one).

Out the box settings for the ML1200 should be DF1, 19200 Baud...

The cable is correct (as Kidblue said) and you don't need to worry about the USB if you have a real serial port....

As for the software what do you have??
