converting seimens s5 to slc500

hi

any out there have any information on converting seimens s5 to allen bradley slc500 as i am looking at converting these programs in our plant. any info on this subject i would be very gratefull

I doubt it very much if there is any programs out there that will do this for you, so you will have to do it all manually. In other words, re-write the whole lot to suit the SLC500.

One thing that could help:

Print out the old programs in LAD format (aka KOP format).
The bad new is, that not everything can be viewed/printed as LAD.

Well, Paul, that's correct. I'm teaching both S5 and SLC500. In both courses I'm using similar or even equal project examples. While writing those courses I have been looking for a translation tool and I came up with nothing.

Well, if you're using STEP5 version 6 or higher, there's a lot more that can be represented in ladder than in versions 5 and lower. It's however not more than about 90%.
