Wincc Flexible how to save alphabetic data from i/o field

Hi Guys,

first a quick introduction.

I have made a game, for introduction to industrial electronics purposes, which lets the user put their name in a I/O Field to save their score.

For this setup I use :

Siemens Simatic Multi Panel - MP277
Siemens S7-315-2 CPU

Software:
Wincc flexible 2008
Step 7


Problem: I Have made an I/O field and can put in Alphabetic characters. but it wont be saved. I want to make a High score screen, which shows the best names and score... Does anyone know how to make that happen?

So how to move alphabetic data from I/O field to an DB in step7.

Nothing special to it.
If you setup a PLC tag of type STRING, it should work.
