Does anyone have the formulas to calculate the number of boxes vs conveyer belt speeds? I have 5 automatic conveyer systems that according to the installation contracts were designed to supply 22 boxes per minute. I need to speed them up to allow for 24 boxes per minute.

So assuming the size of your box is 200mm.

22 (boxes in a minute) x 200 = 4400mm / 1000 = 4.4 metres per minute.

So assuming the gap in between each box is 100mm then

22 (gaps) x 100 = 2200mm / 100 = 2.2m/m

So the total speed for 22 boxes per minute + gaps is 6.6m/m

Going by the same figures 24 boxes per minute would be 7.0m/m

Hope this helps

Could it be this simple...?

24 / 22 = 1.091

Current speed for 22 boxes/min. x 1.091 = speed required for 24 boxes/min.

please check 24*760=18240/1000=18.24 m/m
24*610=14640=14.640 m/m

total speed = 18.24+14.640=32.88 m/m

32.88 metres=107.88 feet/min

Is this correct?
number of cases*length of case(mm)/1000=no space rate (metres)
number of cases*gap between each case(mm)/1000=rate of gaps (metres)
total belt rate metres/min=no space rate+rate of gaps

Unfortunately I cannot do a direct ratio calculation due to design changes after installation. So I would have to calculate actual speed vs case rates
