Hi to all,

1.Line conveying was running then suddenly stops all conveyors. Found out that CPU is on fault solid red on OK indicator and blinking red on I/O indicator.

What was reason for this CPU being corrupted??

Many Thanks,
Allan

You may be able to extract the "fault dump" memory from the controller with the RSLogix 5000 Fault Dump Extraction Utility. This might help you narrow down the difference between a hardware problem and a firmware problem.

The Fault Dump Utility can be downloaded from an RA download server (link) and can only be analyzed by Rockwell Automation Technical Support.

The 1756-L55 was built during an era that saw both a severe hardware problem (the "Atmel 64" backplane chip issue) and a severe firmware problem (Version 15 prior to 15.05) that could cause nonrecoverable faults. You should use the resources of the RA Knowledgebase to rule out both.

For the "Atmel 64" issue, read RA Knowledgebase Article ID 40149 and Article ID 41204.

The firmware revision of the controller can be read directly from Controller Properties in RSLogix 5000 or even by right-clicking in the RSLinx browse and selecting "Properties".

Ken when will you be telling fortunes at the county fair? I would like to get my ticket ahead of time. You probably already knew that being psychic and all.

Now that Ken has a Crystal Ball, things should really pick up around here!

Seriously, I don't think Ken needs any more magic. His extensive knowledge is magic enough.

Hi Mr. KEN,

Thank you for the information you have given. I read those articles the one you provide and then i checked the faulted CPU it was an :
