Dear List

I am starting my first project from scratch in TIA, I just purchased a TIAv15 and is starting to get my feed whet.

First thing I am trying to do is import data for a S110 CU305 drive to my hardware list, is there a simple way to do this?

Thanks

According to Siemens webpage for STARTDRIVE V15.1 (https://w3.siemens.com/mcms/mc-solutions/en/engineering-software/startdrive/pages/startdrive.aspx) only these drives are supported:

SINAMICS G120 - The modular single drive for small and medium output ranges
SINAMICS G120C - The compact single drive with a low power rating and appropriate functionality
SINAMICS G120D - Distributed Inverter for Cabinetless Designs
SINAMICS G120P - The specialist for pumps, fans, and compressors
SINAMICS S120 - The flexible, modular drive system for sophisticated applications
SINAMICS S210 - The servo drive that simplifies project engineering for machine builders a lot

So in order to get an S110 drive into your project, you have to import the GSDML file. And the actual configuration of the drive should be via STARTER.

Updated my response

Starter is indeed required
Startdrive doesn’t support S110

Never will since S210 fully released

Thanks very much for the reply

I did an update of the hardware catalog and the drive showed up in the search :)

I have done a few S110 drives as standalone installations using the starter software, but for this installation I have a ET 200SP in the same cabinet and I was planing on controlling as much as possible via the PLC, is there a block I can throw in where I can handle the basic tags in the drive?

Or do I hardwire some IO to the drive to control it?

The drive and CPU are both Profinet

There are a variety of different drive blocks out there for different Profinet telegrams. Some are included in the Portal install, and I think more are available on the support site.

You can also probably set it up as a technology object in the PLC (assuming you're using one of the newer 1500s). Personally, I prefer this method, and find it a little more intuitive.
