Is anyone using Mitsubishi Servo Motors with Mitsubishi Servo Drivers but controlling them the AB Control Logix? If so what would be your application and what method are you using to communicate to the drivers.
UBE Industries has designed an all electric injection molding machine using a toggle clamp to hold the tonnage. The intriguing part is the all electric injection unit that uses Mitsubishi Servo motors and ball screws to drive the screw forward during the injection cycle. The machines are completely controlled with all Mitsubishi components so the integration is much easier using native Mitsubishi protocols such as SSCNET or CCLINK.
As the Mitsubishi Servo is probably the finest on the market, (based on my history with them) I would want to stick with those to retro fit an existing hydraulic toggle machine with an electric injection unit. But the controls on my machine are Control Logix which I would prefer to stick with.
I know Logix has many embedded motion commands with after market module designed for this purpose, but converting those commands to communicate with Mitsubishi is the unknown.
Does anyone do this?

Thanks,
Mike
