Hello Guys,

I've tried updating my Micrologix 1100 to latest firmware (16)

My PLC, is type 1763-L16BWA Ser. A Rev A, FRN 1

I've tried to update with ControlFlash 15.01.00
I use Windows 10, and is connected with a Serial Cable (with USB/RS232 Adapter) Before I tried the update I could connect with RSLogix Micro, and see the old owners program.

After attempting update, it stops at block 25, the PLC reboots, and the 3 LEDs below power is flashing.

  • Did I brick it somehow, or is there a way out of this? :)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I see frn 15.00 and 15.02 on AB site. I didn't see 15.01, but all others are for series B controllers and yours is series A.

Hi Mdim,

I'm not so sure, I only search for 1763, and I see version between 10 and 16. I see no different software between A and B series.

I just managed to flash with version 10, it included ControlFlash 8.01.001 and I also changed the baud rate in device manager for the COM port to match the option mentioned by the older ControlFlash. So I will try again to flash version 16 :D

When you download the control flash, just check the compatibility, it should be compatible with ser.A as yours

Finally, managed to flash my Micrologix 1100 to Firmware version 16.

It succeeded with Controlflash 12.00.01 included in Version 15.02 Firmware download.

So it seems likely that Controlflash 15.01.00 will not work with Micrologix 1100, Series A?

Thanks for help mdim, how would I know if if a particular version of controlflash works with a particular firmware/PLC in the first place?
