Welcome to the PLCTalk forum !

The more information you can provide with your question, the better advice you can get.

What model of Danfoss drive ? They make a wide variety of them.

PowerFlex 70 digital inputs are generally +24V logic high. You can use an external +24V source or you can use the onboard 24V source through dry relay or button contacts.

Digital inputs are also often configurable or programmable; while the usual start/stop features are generally defaults, functions like speed select and local/remote are usually different between brands.

For the PowerFlex 70, get all three manuals:

User Manual: http://literature.rockwellautomation...m001_-en-p.pdf

Installation Instructions: http://literature.rockwellautomation...n009_-en-p.pdf

Reference Manual: http://literature.rockwellautomation...m001_-en-e.pdf

I recently felt drunk, then I realised the issue was all the beer I had drunk. Maybe you've got a similar issue?

Make sure to look over the links Ken posted. Myself and my I&E tech almost lost our lives about a week ago due to the mis-wiring of a VFD and I can tell you seeing what happens to a 525 when 480 line is wired to the dc bus is pretty startling when you’re a foot or two away.

Ohhh its a 70! I thought I read a 700 something. Nevermind, go crazy. It’ll just tickle a bit!

In all seriousness, good move. I can’t tell you how many fanfics drive problems come up in my field ofnwork, PF is the way to go (in my humble opinion)

I have found that you have to read three or more manuals to find out all you need to know about any given Rockwell product. The specs are in one, the programming is another and wiring in a third, that’s if you are lucky. Download them all and read them, the answer is there somewhere. Remember, There is more than one Powerflex 70 model and they aren’t all controlled the same way!
