TI 545 to laptop comm's cable

I'm trying to communicate to an old TI545 using the rs232 port, could someone tell me the pinouts to make up a comm's cable, or point me in the right direction for the manuals.

thanks in advance

sparky

Hello Sparky;

Here is a link to the TI505 system manual on Siemens' website:

http://support.automation.siemens.co...rim=&nodeid99=

The programming cable is a standard null-modem cable, pins 2 and 3 crossed. But the manual will show you explicitely.

Hope this helps,

The AB cable for connecting to the serial port of SLC's (I forget the number) will work just fine. I tried it one day on a whim, and now I have to carry one less cable in my bag.

Perhaps this could prove useful, not only to your question, but also in general.

Enjoy.

Thanks for all the replies, i'll try the AB cable on Monday.

The Hardwarebook looks as though it has everything I ever wanted to know about cables and pinouts.

cheers
Sparky
