we have a redundancy system consists of CPU of make schneider (part no: 140CPU43412).The inputs are connected to the remote input output header (part no: RIO Head 140CRP93100) of both main and stanby CPU's. Protocol is Modbus.
Through some sources i came to know that the above CPU is obsolete.
1.) what can be the proper substitute for the above mentioned CPU?

thanks for ur reply in advance

Question Not really obsolete

It would be very costly to replace this processor. What follows is a brief description of your processor.

The processor you discribed is Modicon Unity Quantum processor. It has a 486 processor at 800kb, 2M SRAM, 2 Modbus Ports, 1 Modbus Plus Port. It come loaded with the Unity operating software and you use Unity Pro Software for programming.

thanx for the reply..
have u used this processor..is it consistent using this processor. ours is a material handling plant and this processor drives about 700 I/O's .sometimes in future, if the processor shutdowns or faces some problem, the suppliers will plead their inablility to help since the proccesor is obsolete.
so to play it safe i was asking the substitute version.
thank you
saji

The 140CPU53414A is obsolete. But you can use the CPU 140CPU53414B.
The 140CPU43412A is not obsolete yet.
