Hello,

I need help for troubleshooting hi current with fault e19 ( following error) , e20 and e22, machine run with normal 3.7 amps and 31 amps analog.

The faults occured in the early morning when machine started
sometime the current went up to 14 or 15 amps and overheat the motor .

Machine continue to run until the rest of the day without problem.

Thank you

Wally

There is a good chance you have a mechanical problem with the system. What this means is your axis is not able to follow its position properly. If you go online with the PLC. Go to the motion group on the left. Open up the axis and look at the "limits" tab. In there, it will show you what the position error limit is.

Not sure how familiar you are with motion systems but simply put they are used to follow a very precise position. When the unit faults with the error you have, this means it did not follow the position it should have.

Set up a trend and watch the .commandposition, .actualposition and .positionerror. If you have another piece of equipment which is the same, trend it as well and compare. You can also watch from cycle to cycle and the position error should not change much.

I took a look at Rockwells remedy to this. One says to adjust the tuning to fix. It's not a fix. It's a patch. And do not just adjust the position error limit. That is also a patch. But could get you through for a while.

Hope this helps.
