Medoc software wont run??
This is the older version to be ran in DOS. It will not launch from windows and gives me an message of application failed to start because MEDSOCK.dll was not found. Re-installing application may fix this problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Has it ever worked in Windows?
Have you tried the "compatibility mode" options on the shortcut in windows (right click->properties->Compatibility tab)?

The simple solution is to run the program either on a DOS or Windows/3.1/95/ME computer. Like me you probably don't have one hanging around, but Microsoft and others have a solution, Virtualisation. Have a look here. For other operating systems I prefer Virtualbox, do a search and you will find other systems discussed on this Forum. The other day my Dad wanted to access some stuff he did on a old Apple IIe, I ran a virtualised Apple running inside a virtualised Win 95 running inside a Vista computer. Getting the Ports to work can be a bit of a hassle but overall it stops more headaches than it causes.

Mitsu's current software is GX-Developer, and you can import old MEDOC programs into it. Personally, I would look into doing that - why fight with the old stuff? If the PLC you're programming is in the FX family, there is a less expense GX-Dev-Fx software you can get.

Medoc will run on windows XP professional
from the desk top icon select properties - program change Cmd.line: C:\MEDOC\MEDOC.EXE E3H2 if comms becomes an issue add F15 directly after H2 above MEDOC.EXE E3H2F15 to see switches for medoc, go to the dos prompt, set the directory for medoc and type "medoc help" |

Medsock.dll is not part of the DOS version of Medoc. Mitsubishi (Beijers?) did a win32 version for windows and it could be part of this or it could even be Medoc Plus which was the original name for GX IEC Developer. You need to get hold of a copy of the original Medoc and install this.
