Hi every one, my panel view died and I'm looking for replacement. Can I have a normal PC instead (tablet PC with touch screen, RS232 port)and what programs I need on that PC to run RSView32 file same as it was on panel view600 before? I have both programs (RSLogixand RSView32)it came with package so I can make changes if needed. Appreciate your reply
Best regards Alex |

First, what type of PanelView are you using? Or is it a PanelView Plus CE or a VersaView. The standard PanelView uses software called PanelBuilder32. A PanelView Plus uses RSView ME (now called FactoryTalk View ME). Neither used RSView32. RSView32 will run on pretty much any PC, but not any version of PanelView.

Sorry for missleading you guys, PanelBuilder32 thats what was used for palelview 600. The place it located (on switch board I do not find ergonomic anymore) So if possible to use standard PC or like I mention earlier tablet PC would be just great |

Thanks a lot for info you gave me guys, last question I guess it wouldn't easy but just in case is there way to open panel builder project prepared for panelview600 on standard PC (some sort of emulator of Panel View 600. Or way to open panel builder in panelview32 or later version (do I need to ask my field engineer to overwrite program from scratch or just make modifications?

You could import the panelbuilder program into ViewME, then just run ViewME's runtime on a PC(you will need a license to do this)

Hi Dave, guys,
Thanks for your help. Program litte over 2 MB; close to 100 pages. I have contacted my AB service engineer and he'll find painless transition to panel view (like Dravik mention above ViewME should work),Thanks again to all. Alex |
