Omron ns8-tv01b-vs connection problems
Hi all
I'm installing a ns8 to a CQM1H (although right now i'm testing with a cqm1) I'm connected to the cqm1 to my laptop through the peripheral port and trying to connect the screen through the rs232c port, homemade cable (2,3 crossed and 4,5 jumped on both ends 9to 9 for sg ) this info comes from both cqm1 w226 manual and the v083 manual NS setup. I am running 15 to 20 meters through emt so i must make my own cable. i know this is longer than is recomended but at moment I have only 1 cj1w-cif11 so i'm doing this for testing, I have tried all the protocals and combos i can think of. what i cant find is the bit stuff for the screen. should it be 1,7,2,E or ?? thanks Tom |

You can pass throught the PLC to the screen but it is painfully slow. I have given it away and just use a USB cable these days. Recommend you use USB - I have a long USB cable - not 30 metres but about 10 - and it works quite well.

You need to check the protocol for the port on the NS.
From memory it can be set for either Host Link or NT Link. You will need to set the port on the CQM1 for the same. Hope this will help. |

36 hours without internet is long time when you're looking for info! I can talk to the ns through Ethernet and I can talk to the plc just not to each other. I've tried all the protocols available and no luck what i'm after is what cable should i be using? c200h-cn510 or a ? and what protocol would be best. the plc is always hooked to a pc (logging through dde) and the NS will be logged through ftp.

For HMI to PLC comms, you want NT Link protocol, if the CQM1 has it. CQM1-CPU11 and CPU21 do not have NT Link, CPU41,42,43,44,45 do have NT Link.
If you can use NT Link: There are 2 NT Link protocols: NT Link 1:1 and NT Link 1:N. The CQM1 only supports NT Link 1:1. The NS supports both, so make sure you are using NT Link 1:1 on the NS. Make certain that DIP Switch 5 is in the OFF position on the CQM1. This lets the CPU use the 'internal settings' you make in CX Programmer or Syswin. After downloading the PLC Settings (port setup), cycle power to the PLC to make theses changes take effect. If you cannot use NT Link: Then you must use Host Link setting on both the NS and CQM1. If you are still having problems, please post or private message your NS and PLC project. |
