Intouch 10.1 ---> 5 pcs Siemens S7-300

Hey, im going to upgrade a project that runs intouch 7.1 on 2 old NT4 pc´s
that communication with 5 pcs s7-300 plc over profibus

now i some questions:
what profibus card i need on the new PC´s that going to run XP?
A sales man on wonderware recommended applicom PCU1500S7
homepage:
http://www.woodhead.com/products/bra...profibus/#2601
price is 1010 Euro

Siemens profibus card is cheeper but i cant figure out what card i need to buy?
and what i need to make it work with intouch i/o server?
Do i need Simatic NET with licens to make it run as it should?
or do i only need drivers from the simatic net package?

In siemens webshop
i found
6GK1561-1AA01 SIMATIC NET, profibus, CP 5611 A2
And
6GK1561-3AA01 SIMATIC NET, CP 5613 A2

Found this in the PDF about wonderware Siemens S7 I/O Server.(see attched picture)

manual says CP5613 or 5611,
and webshop have CP5613 A2 or 5611 A2

what does A2 stands for?
can i use one of those?
and do i need additional package?

From my experience, if you use CP5611 then you will pay only hardware cost (no need for driver cost) and you can use Intouch package (DASS7) for communication with S7.

If you choose CP5613, you have to pay for S7-5613 driver. The advantage of CP5613 is that it is hardnet but CP5611 is softnet. You can find more detail for softnet/hardnet on this forum. I always use CP5611 without any problem.

Hey Coa, thanks for your replay,
so you have used a CP5611 with intouch?
If i buy a CP5611 is everything in that package so it works with intouch DASS7?

know i have made a closer look on the setup that is running right know
They use CP5613 and have licens for simatic net SW: 6GK1713-5CB61-3AA0
OS NT4
and have made the setup like in technote 220.
1. does this simatic net version works on XP pro?
2. if we bay a new CP5613A2 6GK1561-3AA01 can i use the this version of simatic net?

Your old Simatic Net may not XP compatible. I though you have to buy new driver license for your new CP5613. I don't know Siemens have license upgrade package or not.

Better check with Siemens.

I have found out a solution now,

That version of simatic net doesnt work with xp or a new CP5613A2 card,

Going to buy a new CP5613A2 and they have an Simatic Net S7-5613 upgrade - 6GK1713-5CB00-3AE1 also.
Dont know if this is the latest upgrade from 6.0, going to ask the question to a sales men on siemens

Then i´m on the track again.
