Exclamation MicroLogix 1100 EEPROM Failure

We have a MicroLogix 1100 with Firmware 8.0 that fails to recognize the EEPROM. An error of failure to store to EEPROM 0x4 is displayed when trying to store the program to the memory module. We have gone through steps to power off/on the processor, reseat the memory module and power off/on, tried a second memory module that was working on another MicroLogix 1100 at a second site with same failed results on this processor, verified the original memory moduled worked on the second site's MicroLogix 1100, tried a second MicroLogix 1100 with firmware 9.0 with two different EEPROMs at this problem site. It seams the only item which is the same under these conditions is the PLC program, unless two different MicroLogix 1100s with different firmware (the second being new out of the box for test) both are faulty. Any suggestions on what could cause this?

Looking through the knowledge base at ab.com, I see that there was a problem with RSLogix500 version 7.3. There is a patch at knowledgebase ID#52622 or you can upgrade to version 8.1.

The only other relevant note said try reseating it and if that doesn't work to replace it...

What version of RSLogix are you using?

We are using RSLogix 500 version 7.30.10 (CPR 9). We tried the reseating of the memory module. I'll take at the referenced Knowledgebase answer, although we do not have this issue with about 16 other MicroLogix 1100s which were all programmed with the same version of RSLogix 500.
