Micrologix 1500: 1764-24BWA or 1764-28BXB?

Hello all,
I'm designing a 24 VDC system using a Micrologix 1500.
There are 2 options for the base unit:
  • 1764-24BWA —Twelve 24V DC inputs and twelve relay outputs, 120V AC power.
  • 1764-28BXB —Sixteen 24V DC inputs and six DC FET plus six relay outputs, 24V DC power.
Any suggestions, pros and cons, etc.?

Thank you!

Biggest difference is the BXB gives you the ability to use PTO and PWM.

I'm a big fan of flexibility. The BXB gives you added inputs, some solid state outputs (which can drive external isolation relays if desired), and 24VDC operation.

The 24VDC operation is nice, as you can run it off of a 24VDC supply, two 12VDC batteries, or combine the two with a battery control module, and you have a simple, reliable, effective UPS system for your controls.

More and more, I'm moving away from 120VAC inverter type UPS systems, and over to pure 24VDC control with BCM's.
